A healthy lunch is extremely important when you are training and exercising on a daily basis. In order to reach your maximum level and give your best performance, the right kind of nutrition is essential. Eating the right food will give you strength and energy. Ajax Camps & Clinics developed together with Peter Res, who is the nutrition expert at Ajax, a new lunch that is more focused on regaining strength and refilling your energy levels. Protein, vitamins, minerals and carbohydrates, all packed in a healthy lunch!
“Good food doesn’t guarantees top performances, but an optimal sport performance is unreachable without the right food”, says professor Wim Saris about sport and food. Ajax takes a lot of care in providing the right nutrition to maximize your sport performances. For instance, all of the Ajax players are provided a healthy lunch every day. During the Ajax Camp week you will get the same lunch as the Ajax players. You’ll be a real Ajax-player, both on and of the pitch!
Obviously it is always important to eat healthy not just during the Ajax Camps & Clinics lunch. On that note we’ve wrote down some nutricion tips that will give you enough energy and strength:
• The best tip is to eat as pure as possible. Pure food means products that have been processed the least. Fruit, vegatables, (unsalted) nuts, non-processed meat and fish are pure products.
• During diner make sure your plate is dived in three parts to regain strength and energy: One half should be vegetables, one quarter should be meat or fish and the last quarter should be (whole-wheat) rice or pasta.
• Try to cut down on cookies and sweets in between meals. If you want to eat a snack, eat some (unsalted) nuts or fruit. For instance a banana is easy to bring with you and is filled with vitamins and energy!
• Drink water! Lemonades and soda are filled with sugar and aren’t healthy at all. Drinking water makes you less thirsty and rehydrated you.
